| Short Title: | Crossroads Project |
| Overview: | The 2007 Selection Committee selected the Crossroads Project in Milwaukee, WI as an example of outstanding urban placemaking and as a model of excellence in the design of urban infrastructure. The Committee commended the project especially for: providing a new model for the use of "left over" space found in cities throughout the country and for excellence in design for each of the three project elements, the bus shelter, the Urban Plaza, and the Marsupial bridge. Finally, the project elevated the design of Milwaukee's urban infrastructure and provided a link in a developing network of pedestrian connections to and around the Milwaukee River |
