Kahn worked on this design from 1954-1961 and building began in late 1962
an extension was built 1966-1969. Kahn's design includes the church with a community center, meeting rooms, administrative offices and a kindergarten. The central church sanctuary is surrounded by symmetrically-placed rooms tied together to form the final design of two concentric cubes with four towers attached at the four corners which admitted and diffused light.
